Choosing between HubSpot, Zoho, and doing nothing

Small businesses rarely fail at CRM because they picked the wrong brand. They fail because nothing changes about how enquiries are handled.
Why a CRM pays off
Response speed is the clearest benefit. An audit of more than 2,000 US companies, published in Harvard Business Review, found firms that contacted a new lead within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to qualify it as those that waited even an hour longer — and more than 60 times as likely as firms that waited a day or more.[1]
A CRM makes that speed routine: every enquiry lands in one place, gets an owner, and triggers a reminder if nobody responds.
When HubSpot fits
You want forms, email, and a pipeline in one place with minimal setup. HubSpot offers a free CRM tier; paid features add up quickly as you grow, so price the plan you will need in two years, not today.[2]
When Zoho fits
You want more customization at a lower per-user price and don't mind a longer setup. Zoho publishes tiered per-user editions, including a free edition for very small teams.[3]
When "nothing" is the right answer
If you handle a handful of new enquiries a week and one person owns all of them, a shared inbox with labels and a simple follow-up rule may be enough. Revisit when that person goes on holiday and things slip.
Choose the process first, then the tool. A well-run spreadsheet beats an abandoned CRM.
